The Holy Grail of ranking well in Google is links. Lots of links. That's an undisputed fact. The problem is that you can't get just any kind of links. Google will only rank sites whose links follow a very specific linking pattern.

How It Works

The system uses a method of linking known as 3-way linking. Unlike the traditional one-way link, where only one site benefits, with a 3-way link all 3 sites get what Google sees as a one-way link to their web site.

In the old reciprocal link method, site A linked to site B and site B linked back to site A. Google does not value that kind of link very much at all anymore. Google wants to see one-way links (or at least what it believes are one-way links).

In a 3-way link setup, site A links to site B, site B links to site C, and site C links to site A (as shown in the graphic above). This is where the power of this system lies.

Google sees each link in the 3-way link exchange as a one-way link and gives it the FULL ranking value of a one-way link.

OK, so I signed up for 3 way linking.

First, your websites have to be listed on Google, and have at least 2 pages listed. Second, they don't accept sexual, gaming, dating - and some of my sites had to be adapted to get rid of single videos that covered an area they didn't like. Thirdly, you have to be pretty exact in grabbing the content of your website to surround the links they display - not just a header and a footer, but EXACTLY the same sidebar, lines down the side, etc - with the links replacing other content, so it looks JUST like your website content.

Ok, so it took some work to get set up...how is it working?

The links come slowly - maybe 8 a day, from different Page Ranked sites, lots of PR0, and a sprinkling of 1, 2,3,4,5,getting less and less as the PR rises.

You can click on Google rankings, and see any phrase that you rank in the top 60 in Google for - btw, you pick these 3 phrases per website - so if you're dumb and pick generic phrases - it won't work, or not well anyways - long tail keywords, it kicks ass in!

You can see, day by day - Ok that's me being a nutjob - but you can run the Google rankings every day - and see phrases slowly rise in google as more and more links are added. They do move around a bit, but looking back, the general trend is up, up, up.

The cool thing is you can have 50 websites, each getting 300 links - from sites up to PR5 - this would take AGES to set up! I have sites that I've gotten a fair bit of links to - but adding them to this system, I could see them rising a position every day or two - awesome!

Sites with less links to start with, or more competitive phrases, look to take more time - I see nothing but zeros on some websites, nothing in the top 60 for any of the three phrases. The cool thing is that you can start to see traffic even before they hit the top 60 - and if you have Google Adsense set up, this system pays for itself. Over time, give it a month or two to really see the power - you'll be blown away by what they are able to do for you!
